Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A three-man Ad-Hoc Election Commission of the Liberia Athletics Federation (LAF) has set elections for Friday, November 29, 2013 at the headquarters of the Liberia National Olympics Committee (LNOC).The Ad-Hoc Election Commission is headed by Cllr. Sylvester Rennie with John T. Petiquoi and Horatio Bobby Willie as members.Contestants are: President, Vice President for Administration, Vice President for Technical Affairs, Treasurer and Financial Secretary and the elections will be conducted on a secret ballot without a proxy vote.Cllr. Rennie, former deputy chief referee of the Liberia Football Referee Association (LIFRA) told the Daily Observer in an exclusive interview yesterday that upon the publication of the active and eligible voters, anyone with any complaints against the published listing should file a formal complaint with the Election Commission November 13-17, 2013.“Only members of the LAF who active and eligible based on the listing shall be eligible to contest and vote during the elections, and in the case there is a complaint, the Adhoc Election Commission will hear the complaint, if any from the 18th to the 19th of November and make a determination not later than November 20,” Cllr. Rennie said.He added: “Only an active and eligible club or affiliate organization will be allowed to field a single candidate to contest either of the positions and registration process begins November 15, 2013, while the deadline for receiving applications for the positions to be contested is November 22, 2013 at 12midnight.”Cllr. Rennie, who is also the Vice President for Administration of LNOC and Chairman of the Arbitration Committee said according to Section 4 of the Ad-Hoc Elections Commission Guidelines, candidates should include a non-refundable registration fee of U$300, U$250, U$200 and U$150 in the letter of application and address letter to the Chairman of the Ad-hoc Elections Commission.“The list of qualified candidates will be published on November 23, 2013 and campaign begins the following day, November 24 and ends on November 28, 2013 at 12midnight,” Cllr. Rennie said.
