Alice Ripley to Star in A Christmas Memory Off-Broadway

first_img A Christmas Memory follows a seven-year-old in the 1930s and his poverty-striken family, including his best friend and elderly cousin. The musical adaptation premiered in 2010 at California’s TheaterWorks. A Tony winner for Next to Normal, Ripley has appeared on Broadway previously in The Rocky Horror Show, James Joyce’s The Dead, Side Show, King David, Sunset Boulevard, Tommy and Les Miserables. Hess’ Broadway credits include Chicago, Company Kiss of the Spider Woman and The Goodbye Girl. Richardson made her Broadway debut in Annie. Woodruff has appeared on Broadway in Violet, Leap of Faith, The Color Purple, All Shook Up and Smokey Joe’s Cafe. Tony winner Alice Ripley will return to the New York stage this fall, reporters The New York Times. A Christmas Memory, based on an autobiographical short story by Truman Capote, will play the DR2 Theater from November 25 through January 4, 2015. The Irish Repertory Theater production will also feature Nancy Hess, Taylor Richardson and Virginia Ann Woodruff.
