Print Friendly Version “It is a unique fall weekend for us with two different regattas in different locations,” said Drake head coach Charlie DiSilvestro. “We’re excited to see how it goes for us. The primary reason is to take our team to races that their families and friends can easily get to. We have lots of kids from Illinois specifically the greater Chicago area, Minnesota, Wisconsin so to take them home or close to home is great.” In Minneapolis, boats will race on a beautiful course on the Mississippi that starts at the Minneapolis Rowing Club and ends approximately three miles upstream. The Head of the Mississippi is in its 38th year. In Rockford, boats will compete on a 2.75-mile course on the Rock River. The Head of the Rock is in its 32nd year. MINNEAPOLIS – The Drake University rowing team has a full weekend of racing beginning Saturday at the Head of the Mississippi Regatta in Minneapolis.
