The day I first shaved my head on the set of @Stranger_Things!! #ElevenIsBorn #StrangerThings pic.twitter.com/tkJG9BczEd— Millie Bobby Brown (@milliebbrown) August 14, 2016“It was the best decision I’ve ever, ever made.” Brown said. The show’s success seems to indicate it as such, as she’s clearly the breakout star.Stranger Things is now available to stream on Netflix, as if you didn’t know that already. A second season is reportedly in the works. Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown has just shared a video documenting the moment in which she had her long hair shaved down to complete her transformation into the show’s psychically enhanced protagonist Eleven. As you can imagine, completely shaving off her hair wasn’t the easiest decision for the 12-year-old. The video is shown in time-lapse so you don’t get her full reaction to the life-changing haircut, but you can see from her face that her new look was a bit shocking. In fact, it took her a little bit to be convinced that this was a good idea at all. Series creators Matt and Ross Duffer didn’t tell Brown until her final audition that they needed to shave her head for the role of Eleven. This understandably upset her mother who probably was also worried about future acting roles, but Brown was ok with it.“My mum’s reaction was like, ‘Oh my God, nooooo!’” Brown explained “I don’t want you to do it! Please don’t do it!’ And me and my dad were like, ‘Mum, it’s okay! It’s just my head!’”To convince her that the drastic new look was perfect for the role, the Duffers showed pictures of her and Charlize Theron’s shaved look as Furiosa from Mad Max: Fury Road side by side to point out the resemblance. After all, how better to convince a young actress that her role will be amazing than by showing her one of the more badass female characters in recent years?
