Vandals have targeted multiple areas in Waterford including the Waterford Lions Park, Waterford Lions Community Centre and downtown Waterford.Police were contacted on April 17 around 8 a.m. by an employee of Norfolk County Parks and Recreation reporting graffiti on several buildings and signs.Norfolk OPP have released images of the damage. If anyone recognizes the writing they are being asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.Vehicle passes stopped school busA vehicle passed a stopped school bus on Golden Meadow Drive in Port Dover on April 16 between 8 and 8:30 a.m.The vehicle is being described as silver in colour.Police remind drivers of the rules of the road. Drivers approaching a stopped school bus with its overhead red signal-light flashing and the stop arm extended need to stop and not pass until the bus starts moving again.Vehicle owners should be aware that if the driver cannot be identified, the fine is given to the owner of the vehicle.“This law is in place to protect our most valuable resource, young children. Passing a stopped school bus is not only against the law; it is a potential lethal decision. Taking a few extra minutes behind a stopped school bus can prevent lifelong regret of injuring or killing a child.” said Inspector Joseph Varga, Detachment Commander, Norfolk County OPP in a press release.
